I produce music under the name Last Magpie

Most days at my home in London.
5)Why do you play music?
I got into DJing through enjoyment of the UK music scene.
I enjoy the feeling of being in flow with the music and creating a vibe through music you
play and the feel you play it with.
1)Which track defines you the most?
Tough question. Bad Company – The Nine. Boundary breaking drum n bass tune that has
all the elements I love from that era. Deep, moody and devastating.
2)Any track of the moment?
Four Tet – Kool FM. It takes similar influences to what I grew up listening to in the late 90s
early 2000’s.
3)What influences your work?
I like atmosphere, Music that has space and feeling.Emotion in a less obvious way.
It can be dark and haunting but beautiful at the same time.
Dark garage and Jungle are an influence from what I grew up playing at home with
friends. I like music that seams to reach back to that vibe but with a new angle, pushing
the sound forward and turning over new possibilities.
4)Do you consider yourself as an Artist? If so, why?
I suppose I do. I write all my own stuff and engineer the music myself.
I try to be original and create something of my own with every track.
Influence is important but its how you use that makes the difference.
5)What’s your academic background? Are you an autodidact?
Bit of both. I have a BSC in Creative Music and Sound Technology but I have always
learnt most about production at home and through books, internet etc.
Also experimenting with stuff can open new possibilities.
6)Favorite designer?
Nudie.
7)Favorite Classic movie?
Once Upon a Time In America.
8)Favorite book?
Erkhartt Tolle – The Power of Now.
9)Favorite word ( that you most overuse)?
“Nectar”.

Metalheadz.

Groove Chronicles.

Seek the new, Accept change.
